About Me

I’m a curious, middle aged (60 is the new 40), seasoned wonderer, serial experimenter, creative, aging professional.

I am dedicated to helping people transform their mindset and live a life they love.

Years ago — as the ‘salt’ began to overtake my ‘salt and pepper’ beard, along with morning back pains, a thick waistline and a thin bank account — I took a good, hard, look at my life and found it wanting.

Wanting for…

  • The energy I had in my twenties
  • The creative urge that once prompted me to make art
  • A job that provided fulfillment
  • More income and less money worries
  • A direction to my life

My life, up to this point, could be summarized in one word; ‘drift’.

  • Without drive, I drifted away from my dream career when things got too difficult
  • Without a specific career objective, I drifted from one mediocre job to another
  • With a  lack of energy and willpower I drifted away from any exercise program
  • With a constant, low level feeling of anxiety, I drifted to the refrigerator, eating for comfort
  • Without introspection, I drifted away from my art

I was surviving, but I was not living.

This was my reckoning.

It was time for a change.

Not a tweak. Not a quick fix to alleviate an immediate problem. But a deep change. A course correction.

So I started to work on myself.

I experimented.

Reading books, taking courses, listening to podcasts, watching videos, talking to people, all things self-help to learn the tools of self-regulation.

There was a lot of trial and error, but over time, I started to see patterns. Concepts and practices that were shared by diverse schools of thought.

I observed and practiced what worked:

  • A retreat in a Buddhist monastery to develop a meditation practice
  • A writing practice to document what I was learning
  • Intermittent fasting and reducing sugar and carbs from my diet
  • Implementing natural movement into my daily routine (No more sitting in chairs!)
  • Regular ice baths

With the professional training and coaching tools I learned, along with physical experimentation, I was able to transform my mindset and see amazing improvements in my body, health, and career.

I now look forward to each day with excitement.

I now…

  • Have my own business.
  • Paint on a regular basis.
  • Maintain the same weight I had in high school (I was a fit athlete).
  • Have abundant energy and drive
  • Have curiosity and experiment regularly

I am now living with purpose, expressing myself through my art, and giving back by helping others fulfill their dreams.

It is with gratitude that I inspire to share what I’ve learned with you.
